5 on friday: blog design, busy-ness, and birthday

one. New blog design! A while back, I noticed how the really cute blogs didn't use regular old templates--they were custom designed. I knew that I was more drawn to blogs that had good design, so I figured my blog was easily dismissible because it was just a boring old template from blogger. I started looking for blog design websites, and I found a lot of great options, but the lowest price I found was $40--not bad, but more than I wanted to spend at the time. Then, I found A Ziggy Designs, and her price was a mere $15! That was a price I could definitely afford! So we started the process of me communicating what I wanted and her doing so well in delivering. She was great to work with me as I changed my mind and got really detailed about what I wanted. And now, I'm so excited to finally have something a little more personalized and exciting :) But I'm still working on the info under about and love story, so be patient with me while that space stays blank for a few days :) What do you guys think of the new design? :)

two. I started a new term last week. I've never taken spring classes, and so far I'm liking it. It's great having less classes, even if the classes are longer. I'm taking Marriage & Family Relations, Intermediate Sewing, and a Swimsuits/Knits sewing class. What I did not adequately weigh was the fact that I will be making seven different sewing projects over the next 5.5 weeks. SEVEN! I might die. But I'll have lots of fun projects to showcase on here when I'm done!

three. However, luckily, I lost one job this week and I'm losing one more next week, so I'll have some more time. Why do I say luckily? Well, because I've had five jobs for a little bit too long and it makes me too scattered! It's hard to keep track and balance them all. So after next week, I'll only have three jobs, one of which has been totally dead lately, so I've had no hours, and another that is only one hour per week. So I'm back to being a normal person with basically only one job :)

four. Birthday month!!! My birthday is next week! I still have made next to zero plans. Will I have a party? Will we just go out to dinner? Who knows. It's always been my philosophy that my birthday is the one day each year where it's all about me. I can make the decisions about what restaurant we go to, or what game we play, or what movie we watch without considering anyone else. Sounds kind of rude, but I feel that way about other people's birthdays, too! I just think we spend so much time in life trying to make sure that everyone is happy with group decisions that are made, that sometimes it's nice to just say, "I want to do this, so since it's my birthday, we're going to do it." But anyway, unfortunately, now that I'm older, I don't know what I want to do! I want to do something fun, but don't have a clue what exactly that is. What are some fun things you've done for your birthdays? Or just something fun you've done lately that might be a fun birthday activity? :)

five. This is my one hundredth post! Can you believe it?! I can't. I started this blog about a year and a half ago, but I've only been blogging consistently for about six months. I love that I have this little place to share my thoughts and my life, and I love this way of meeting new people :) Who knew I'd love blogging so much? :)
