The beginning of this post (between the ***) was written after I finished OTH the first time, circa December 2015. After the *** was written today, after finishing OTH a second time * * * * * Guys. I'm feeling pretty devastated. Today I finished the last episode of One Tree Hill. It sounds dumb to be devastated about a TV show, but TV really gets to me! I feel this way every time I finish a TV show, I think. But this one really got to me more than usual, I think. Part of the reason is that it's a really great show. It's overly dramatic like all teen dramas, but it also has these overarching themes of people trying to find themselves and people trying to do the right thing. Those are the kinds of themes that get ya right in the heart. And it's hard to say goodbye to people you've spent so much time with and people you've grown to love. And it's maybe harder to admit to yourself that those people aren't even real; they're just characters you...

Wow. Was anyone else completely annoyed throughout The Bachelor 's finale? My biggest problem with reality TV is that no one seems to be able to accurately express what they're feeling. I think viewers understand what's going on, but somehow, everyone else seems clueless. Probably because they're actually involved, so their hearts are in it or something. With that, here are my thoughts on the finale. #1 - I think it's totally fine that JP didn't propose or even say "I love you." Saying those words is a big deal, and if you don't feel it, you shouldn't say it. I think he really took to heart what Nikki's dad said a few episodes ago, and so he wants to be sure he feels whatever he says. Not to mention, he just went through a very unconventional route to finding someone, followed by a few months of hiding that relationship, so I don't blame him for being unsure. It takes a lot  of people a lot more  than ten weeks to say those word...

I got into The Bachelor last year because a couple of girls in my ward were talking about it and I had no clue what was going on. Since then, I'm hooked. Unfortunately, I can't convince R to watch with me, or even listen to me talk about anything that is going on, so you all get to hear about it here :) Feel free to skip this post if you're not interested in The Bachelor :) Here's my biggest pet peeve about the show: when the girls say "I deserve  that rose tonight" or "Getting the rose tonight would mean more than any of the other roses up to this point" or really anything about the rose in general. First of all, it doesn't matter how much you share, or how personal what you share is; it matters how JP is feeling, and he'll give the rose to the girl that he's feeling it for the most that night. Second of all, of course  the rose means more the later on in the game it gets. Why state the obvious? Also, related but not quite the...

Any Friends  lovers out there? If you're a true fan, you'll know that my titles are kind of stolen from Friends. Every episode of Friends  is called "The one with . . . " just like my blog. Or, I guess, my blogs titles start "the one with . . . " just like Friends  episodes :) I fell in love with Friends  shortly after I fell in love with Russ :) For the first two months of our marriage, Russ and I stayed at my boss's house because she was out of the country. My boss happens to own the entire Friends  series, so, though I had never seen an episode before, Russ and I started watching them together, and that's the first series we watched from start to finish. Don't you worry. I cried the last couple episodes because those guys really became some of our best friends. Pathetic, right? :) But just like I had to say goodbye to my "friends," I think with a new year starting, it's time to say goodbye to the Friends -inspired tit...
