2017 list


Last year, I made a giant list of things I could do throughout the year. The idea was to choose just one item to work on each month so that by the end of the year I would have 12 concrete things I could say I accomplished. Well . . . it didn't go very well. I only did like four things. So I'm bringing back the list for 2017. We'll see how it goes this year!
  • Cut back on social media usage
  • Focus on consistency
  • Come up with a meal-planning strategy
  • Pick an annual party to throw
  • Try something new
  • Read a book
  • Go skinny dipping
  • Throw a dinner party for friends
  • Do karaoke
  • Join a sports team
  • Splurge on something that will last me years
  • Go on a cross-country road trip
  • Attend a major sporting event
  • Take a class that’s totally out of my element, like improv, golf, or pottery-making
  • Unplug for a full day, or maybe even a full weekend or week 
  • Say yes for an entire week
  • Learn to drive stick
  • Take a photography class
  • Learn to can food
  • Do Whole30
  • Pay for the person behind me
  • Get ready every single day for a month
  • Organize my closet and get rid of anything I don’t wear
  • Create a look book for my clothes and accessories
  • Stop being a slob
  • Reconnect with an old friend
  • Throw a Pinterest-worthy party
  • Learn a song on the piano
  • Sew something
  • Open an Etsy shop
  • Create a cleaning schedule
  • Memorize “The Living Christ”
  • Memorize “The Family: A Proclamation to the World”
  • Go on a weekend trip
  • Learn a new make-up technique
  • Learn how to do a new hairstyle
  • Get Zumba-certified
  • Recover the jump drive
  • Compile a recipe book with all the recipes I actually use
  • Learn to garden
  • Mend all my mending things
  • Pick a Christ-like attribute to work on
  • Run in a race
  • Focus on reaching out to people
  • Focus on being a missionary
  • Focus on giving more love to Russ than usual
  • Focus on service
  • Do something different/new/exciting with my hair peek-a-boo streak // chopped it
  • Whiten my teeth
  • Find a lipstick or two that work for me
  • Travel to a new state
  • Organize/print ALL photos from 2006 - 2014
  • Organize 2015 photos and make a photobook
  • Organize 2016 photos and make a photobook
  • Figure out what we’re going to do for Christmas traditions in our house
  • Start a New Year’s tradition
  • Visit the Red Butte Gardens
  • Get parents’ VHS tapes onto DVD
  • Digitize all photos before 2006
  • Find a "thing" that is mine and my mom's (like something to do together)
  • Find a "thing" that is mine and my dad's
  • Buy a new purse
  • Make a date night list/box/jar
  • Pare down my Pinterest boards/pins
  • Play glow stick hide and seek
  • Find a signature fragrance
  • Go one month without getting fast food
  • Go for tea at the Grand America
