A murder mystery been on my "party list" for ages, but I've never gotten around to throwing one (probably because there are too many other ideas on my party list haha). So even though we were planning to do Harry Potter movie parties every Friday and Saturday in October, when my friend asked if we'd be available for a murder mystery, I told her I would rearrange my schedule to be there! Haha :) When the actual invitation came, I was super impressed because it was so themed and legit! Diana went above and beyond -- the kit they bought (from Night of Mystery ) came with invitations, but she had someone design different ones that were so awesome. Girl knows how to get the party started right from the get-go! I had heard about and seen other murder mysteries before, and the main thing I always heard about was people dressing up. It was so fun to arrive at Diana and Michael's and find that everyone had really gone all out with their costumes! Wigs,...
Russ and I have been trying to get pregnant for 16 months now. 16 very long months. We've done one fertility test on Russ, which came back fine. I kind of refuse to believe there is anything wrong. Like, I know it obviously isn't as easy for us as many other couples, but I believe it's due to trying at the wrong time for a while (because I don't fit into the normal 28-day-cycle, therefore I do not ovulate around day 14 or anywhere near it), possibly due to me not eating super healthy all the time, possibly due to some sort of imbalance which is aided by my diabetes, possibly something I haven't even thought of. I honestly in my heart do not believe there is anything incurably wrong with me, I just haven't quite figured out how to tweak everything yet. But anyway, now that the lowdown is all out there, here's what I really want to say: It's getting really hard to see baby announcements. I want to feel happy for people, because a baby is always a happy t...
As I said last week, I had a PREception --a reception the night before my wedding--which was the best decision ever. Why? Because it meant that I got to really just enjoy my wedding day, without having any stress about trying to fit everything into one day or about something going wrong. Nothing could go wrong . . . it was my wedding day! Our wedding was scheduled for about 2pm, so I had the whole morning to get ready and make sure I had everything packed for the honeymoon. Russ and I then drove up to the Salt Lake City temple together. Our wedding ceremony was small in comparison to many. We had only our parents, our siblings (except Chantry because she hasn't been through the temple), grandparents, aunts and uncles, and a few friends. Sadly, none of my best friends or cousins closest to my age could be there because they hadn't gone through the temple, either. But two of Russ's best friends from his childhood (Brad and Curtis) and one of his favorite mission companio...
