evolution of a yard

Russ and I were super blessed to be able to purchase a brand new home for our first home. We really lucked out, because that even meant we got to make a few of the interior decisions like carpet, flooring, countertops, and paint color. The downside to purchasing a brand new home was that it did not include any sort of yard. For our first year, we had rock hard fill dirt and, more often, an abundance of weeds! (Weeds really do grow like CRAZY when you ignore them. We're talking 6 feet tall in our entire backyard!) We hoped to put in a yard right after moving in (we moved in mid-May 2015), but we were slow movers and bad planners, and before we knew it, the scorching summer was upon us. Not only that, but the estimate our realtor gave us for doing the yard ourselves was just far too low. I mean, 4k sounds like a lot, but apparently, when it comes to a yard, it's...not. laundry room makeover

I'm not one who is super into painting every room in the house. I like mostly neutral walls with the color being added in with accessories. However, before we moved into our house last May, I had already decided that I was going to paint the laundry room. It's a small and mostly unimportant room, so I figured even if the color turned out to be crazy, it wouldn't matter too much! In order to make things easy, I painted the room before we had our washer and dryer delivered. Since I'm the one who does the laundry, the laundry room is basically considered my room; however, it's still our  house, so I tried to make sure Russ was on board with my color choice. I wanted a very subtle bluish-mint.
