**The other night, Russ and I had an interesting conversation with Russ's dad. The following post is inspired by that conversation, and many of the ideas came from Trent. What defines a superhero? We make movies about them and write books about them, but why? Probably because they are superhuman in some way, like they can fly or teleport or they have incredible strength. These are all things that normal humans obviously can't do, so we are fascinated with the idea of someone being able to do those things. But that's not all that makes a superhero. Because the villains usually have superhuman abilities as well. So what, then, is the difference? The difference is really just that superheroes use their abilities for good, while villains use theirs for evil. Superheroes use their abilities to help, serve, and save others, while villains use theirs for personal gain and usually the destruction of others.
